Mr. Kirk was on vacation. The Warrant was approved as sub- mitted. GAS EXgAVATIONS: The Board approved three petitions of the Lawrence Gas Oo. to excava~on Gr. Pond Road, 841 Chickering Rd. and Beverly St. to install gas services. GASOLINE BIDS: The date was set by the Board for the opening of gasoline bids for town departments to be held om October 20, 1969, at 7:35 P.M. MASS. AVE.: A notice was received from J. Berkover, that the State would plow and de-ice the section of Mass. Avenue during the coming winter. I~TATIONS :' Received from Mass. Electric Co. to attend the annual street lighting symposium, Oct. 29th, at the Marriott Motel, Newton. Chief Lawlor was ~delegated to attend. Received from the Atty. General's office to attend a meeting on the Conflict of Interest Law Ootover 17, 9:00 A.M. at the Yankee Drummer Inn, Auburn, Nase. FEDERAL GRANT: The Merrimack Valley Health Planning Council sent a notice of possible federal grantfor their work and requested a letter from the Board supporting their work. BUS HEARINg: A letter from Francis J. Trombly advised the Board that a hearing, on the Park Bt. Trombly B.us petition, would be held on Oct. 9, 1969, at lO:00 A.N. in the DPU hearing rm., Boston. He was advised that the'Board would be represented at said hearing. CLARK ST. PETITION: Received from the Board of Public Works was a petition for the street adjudication of Clark Street. An Article was also submitted for the arm,,al town meeting. The petition was tabled until the next meeting. MASS ELECTRIC CO.: A hearing was set for October 20, 1969, at 7:40 P.M. on the petition of the Mass. Electric Co. to install 1 conduit on Chicksring Rd., northerly from Pleasant St. TOWN BUILDING CLOSING: · The Board of Selectmen decreed that the town building would be closed on October 13, becaus of the October 12th holiday f~ll~ng on Sunday and celebrated on Monday. The next meeting will be October 20, 1969. STREET LIGHT: The Board voted to have a street light survey made for Beech Avenue at the request of Mr. Devine · ~ WAVERLEY RD. T~CK RESTRICTION: The Board voted to write to Town Counsel advising him that the Waverley Rd. truck ban would be lifted in six months from date of restriction.' They requested that Atty. SalisbUry be- gin the nsc~ssaryprocessing to extend the restriction before March 11, 1970 and to draw up and submit to the Board the nscessary decumants for action by the Board to ex'tend the res - striction. EXECUTIVE SEC. PERSONNEL BD.: The Board voted to send a letter advising the ~ers0nnel'Bo~rd of possible pending By-Law changes in regard to the proposed Executive Secretary position in town government. The · Board requested a meeting with the Personnel Board and the Town Charter Study Committee to discuss this matter at their convenience. RT. 114 RECONSTN~CTION: The Board~ voted to send a letter to District Highway Engineer, Jacob'~'Berkover, with copies to Commissioner Ribbs and Sec. of State Secretary, R. Yasi on the scheduled closing off of Cotuit Street during the reconstruction of Rt. 114. They stated that the town Highway Surveyor had previously submitted a detailed proposal which seeks to ame%liorate the impact of the proposed closing-off of Cotuit Street. The Board stated that they f,,~!y supported this proposal of Mr. Nicetta and asked Mr. Berkover's favorable consideration of it.
