present, Selectman Finneran and Kirk with Chairman Duffy presiding. The warrant was
approved as submitted.
RT.. 495 BRIDGE LIGHTS:
A letter received from J. Berkover, DPW, advised the Board that the street lights under
Rt. 495 overpass on Mass. Avenue had been replaced as per request of Selectmen Finneran.
He thanked the Boar~ for cailing his department's attention to the fact that the lights
had gone out.
STREET LIGHT SURVEY:
The Board approved a street light survey for Autran Avenue and voted to have same in-
stalled.
GAS EXCAVATIONS:
Petitions received were approved by the Board to excavate for gas services on ll60
Salem Street and Lot 61 on Autran Avenue.
POLE RELOCATION:
A petition received to relocata a joint pole on Turnpike St. was approved by the
Board.
PARKING BAN:
The Board voted to advertise the annual Parking Ban for the winter months to be'
effective midnite, December l, 1969.
PERSONNEL BOARD:.
The Board received notice of hearing meeting on town dept. petitions by the Personnel
Board on November 20, 1969.
SID~NALKS: ·
The Board received an answer to their letter dated, October 29, to Jacob Berkover,
DPW re sidewalk installations on Chickering Road and Osgood Street. Mr. Berkover
stated that he had recently submitted a new District Priority list to the Boston
Office audboth of the Seleqtmen's cooperative sidewalk requestshad been given
high priorities. He added, however that no specific date for scheduling this work
could be given at this time. State funds'for theze projects were limited. He also .
suggested that the town could install the sidewalksthemselves and his department
would offer any engineering assistance necessary. The Board voted to decline the
suggestion as presented and voted to send another letter to urge that this matter
would be given highest priority.
NBTA: TPAIN PASSENGER SERVICE:
A letter was sent to Attorney Edward McLaughlin, General Counsel, on November 10,
1969,~ requesting that the same courtesy b.e given the town in the matter of train
passenger service to be continued until the annual town meeting authorized the
Selectmen to negotiate the necessary cOntnact for the coming'year. The net cost
of this service for the period Jan. l, 1969 to June 30, 1969, in the amount of
157.51 was processed.
NEW TOWN GA~AGE:
The Board voted to request recommendations from the Tree, Highway and Public Works
Department regarding the necessity for the new town garage to be submitted by Dec. 1.
WAVERLYROAD:
The Board voted to send a letter to Town Counsel to take the necessary steps to
make the truck traffic restriction on WaverlyRoad, a permanent restriction. The
present restriction will be up by Narch ll, 1970.
