POLICE CA~S:
Letter from Chief Lawlor requested the Board to advertise for bids for 4 new, 1977 police
cars, 4 police cars to be turned in, in trade. Bids w~33 be opened on November 15, at ?:45
LOCAL 64:
Letter from Atty. Randazzo contained 16 grievances against the Highway Surveyor from members of
Local 64. Selectmen noted that all grievances should be submitted to the Department Head first
and then to the Personnel Board according to the Lecal 64 agreement. Agreement does not c.11
for the Selectmen to participate. Adm. Assistant was advised to send letter to Atty. Randazzo
advising him of the procedure.
REQUESTS:
Letter from Paul Donovan requested a No Parking zone in front of his f~umiture store on Main
St. He claims customers have no place to park and delivery trucks have to double park 'to un-
load furniture. The Board voted to take up the matter with Chief ~awlor when they meet. A
copy of letter ~11 be sent to Chief with a request for his recm,~*~ation by Nov. 8th.
John caren appeared before the Board representing his father, George Caren, reqnesting a
No Parking restriction he placed on the right hand side of May Street, a ~arr~w lane, as he
was gotng to fence in his parking lot alongside of May Street. If Nay Street not restricted
customers of Rolf's Tavern would block May Street by parking on both sides, creating a
and fir~ hazard. Request ~11 be discussed with Chief Lewlor at meeting.
Atty. Joseph A. Miragliotta was appointed to sex~e as Special Counsel in the Gibbs Tire Depot,
Inc. vs. North Andsver Board of Assessors in the appellate tax board hearing.
COMPLAINT:
Ne~ry'L. D~novan, 121 Salem Street, sent letter protesting the continuous litter, especially
after weekends aren~d the Drozm~nd Playgr~,~M. Copy of letter se~t to Chief Lawlor requesting
investigation and report on the matter.
SANIYAE~ IANDFILL:
Letter received from Marshall J. Rogers~ Sr., 311 Clark Street, protested the overloading of
the present dumpsite. Ne stated that if it continued, North Andover would have their first~
mountain, though man'made. Complaint referred to Highway Surveyor requesting his comments and
plans for correcting the situation.
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING:
The Board voted to hold a Special Town Meeting on November 23, 1976, at 7:30 P.M. in the Middle
School for inclusion of 5 or 6 Articles. Articles wLll be sent to Salisbury for legal wording
and Town Clerk notified.
