TOWN REPORT: '
The Board.received.a.letter from Robert Hauser re the Town Report and they voted to send him
a letter of appreciation and thanks for his constructive recommendations.
COPPER PIPING CASE:
A check for $144.52, a partial payment in the settlement of the Copper Piping cases was rec-
ceived from the Attorney General's Office. The check was.submitted to the To~en Treasurer.
GAS EXCAVATIONS:
Notice received from the Lawrence Gas Company of excavations on Phillips Ct.
the Highway, Public Works and Police Dept.

COMPLAINT:
Nm. Vincent Cottoni appeared before the Board and stated to Acting Chairman Joseph Guthrie
that rocks and debris in front of his house on the road had been ricocheted from passing trucks
and cars through his front door, breaking the glass, two times. He asked if the reconstruction
crew could clean the road upo The Board voted ~o refer the matter to the Highway Surveyor for
investigation and report. Mr. Cottoni was so advised~ by ~,tter.

Licensing Commissioners:
The Board approved the request of the North Andover Women's Club to hold an auction on Sat-
urday, April 17, 11 A.M. to 3 P.M, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Chief Lawlor to be notifiedl
LEGAL HOLIDAY:
The Board.announced that Monday, April 19, a legal holiday, the town building would be closed.
The next Selectmen's Meeting would be held on N~nday, April 26.~._~ .
The Board of Selectmen held their regular ~eeting on this date. Chairman Arthur P. Kirk conducted
the meeting.and Selectman Joseph A. Guthrie was acting Chairman of the Licensing Commissioners in
the absence of Atty. William B. Dully, Jr. The Warrant and Minutes were approved as submitted.
CROSS-BLUE SHIELD:
At the request of the Selectmen, John N~Cabe, Representative of B.C.-B.S., met with the Board at
7:00 P.M. to discuss additional coverage for To~en Employees. After considerablediscussion, Mr.
Kirk requested Mr. NcCabe to contact James Maker, To~mTreasurer, to determine the additional
cost to the Town and To~m Employees. The Board requested that Mr. McCaOe send a report and con-
firming letter to the Selectmenwith this information.
JUROR:
George Kit~rell, 69 Fernview Avenue was drawn for Jury dut~ on May 24, at Newburyport.
INSURANCE:
It was voted to have Chairman Kirk set up a meeting with ~ichard Lafond to discuss the Town's
Comprehensive General Liability Coverage.
ROOF REPAIR BIDS:
At 8:00 P.M. five(5) bids were received and opened by Chairman Kirk; they are as follows:

Castricone Roofing & Siding Co., 15 Court Street, North Andover, was awarded the contract, beirg
the lowest bidder. The contract was awarded subject to the approval of Town Clerk re specifica-
tions. Letters of acknowledgement were sent to each bidder and notice of award to Castricone.
FIRE HOR~:
The Board voted to send a letter to the Board of Fire Engineers requesting their recommendations
on numerous requests received by the Board that all audible fire horns be eliminated.
