Selectman Arthur P. Kirk with Chairman Joseph A. Guthrie presiding. The minutes and warrant
were approved, as submitted.
JURORS:

ace and Donald B. Elliot, 107 Cotuit Street.
GAS EXCAVATION:
Approved: Petition to excavate at 200 Sutton Street to install gas service for Charles Con-
struction Co. Approval subject to Chief Lawlor's approval.
SNOW REMOVAL:
A letter from Jacob Berkover, DPW, stated that he had recommended to the Boston Department
of Public ~orks that the state not be responsible for snow removal on Andover and Osgood
Streets, effective July 1, 1973. The Board voted to send copy of letter to Highway Surveyor
advising him to include the extra e.~pense for snow removal of these streets in his 1973
budget.
GASOLINE & FUEL OIL BIDS:
The Board voted to advertise for the annual bids of the town's gasoline and fuel oil needs.
The bids will be opened on November 20, 1972, at 7:30 P.M.
PRECINCT WORKERS'RATES:
The Board voted to amend Precinct Workers' rates as submitted by the Board of ~gistrars,
specifically for the November 7, 1972 election. The Board, consulting with Chairman McCormack
of the Registras, voted to hold a meeting with the Wardens, Board of Registras to adjust the
list, i.e .... equalize party affiliations and reexamine the pay rates. A letter was sent to
the Board to that effect.
REVENUE SHARING REPORT:
Jack Erle, submitted a comprehensive report on a Revenue Sharing meeting he attended on Nov. 2.
He stated it was an extremely, informative meeting on revenue sharing. The legislative Bill
appropriated 5.3 billion dollars in assistance to ~ities:~ and towns for the next five years
to be appropriated for high expenditure priorities. ~he funds have to be used in 24 months
and cannot be used as matching funds. The town can expect an appropriation early in Decem-
ber.' The report was accepted as submitted.
HOUSING STUDY CO~4ITTEE:
Chairman Guthrie made a motion, which was seconced by Mr. Kirk, to name of Mrs. Anna O'Connor
the nominee to the Housing Study Committee. The Planning Board will be so notified.
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING REQUEST:
A group of townspeople appeared before the Board with a petition, containing 445 signatures
tc amend the Zoning By-Law as pertaining to apartments. Kirk motioned the petition be taken
under advisement until verification of signatures is completed by the~ Board of Registrars.
The time element, (45 days after petition is submitted with proper signatures, Selectmen re-
quired to ~wld a Special Town Meeting) would not commence, Mr. Kirk stated, until petition
was returned by the Registrars. Hearings will then be set up and advertised by the Planning
Beard before meeting date is set. Vincent Helfich, 120 Stevens Street, a petitioner, stated
that the group wished to have the Special Town Meeting as soon as possible.
LICENSING CO~2.ESSIONERS:
The following applications for renewal of 1973 licenses were approved, subject to payment of
required fee:
Common Victualer and Club, All Alcoholic-Club, 2104, Inc.
Common Victualer and Restaurant, All Alcoholic, Hi-Spot Restaurant.
Retail Package Goods Store, All Alcoholic, McAloon's Package~ore.
