The Board of Selectmen held their regular 'meeting on this date with all members present;
Selectmen Joseph A.Guthrie, Thomas J. McEvoy with Chairman John F.~Coady presiding. The
warrand and nit, utes were approved as submitted.
L~NN WHITTAKER:
The Selectmen ~et with Lynn Whittaker, representative from Congressman Harring~on's office,
to discuss ways that the Congressman could aid the town of North Andover. She stated Mr.
Harrington would like to be in better contact with the Selectmen and this district. A Naverhill
number was left for the Board's convenience, 1-372-Ol17. Mrs. Whittaker stated that she would
contact Thomas McMahon, Director of Water Pollution Control, on our request for iku~ng an ex-
tension of the town's trunk and branch sewer collection system...we are still waiting for a
reply to a letter sent to Mr. McNahon on March 18, 1975 .... and would also contact Mr Rerdenaz,
connected with Hud re low-cost elderly housing.
CAPITAL BUDGET RESIGNATION:
Resignation received, with regret, from Albert J. Benoit, as a member of the Capital Budget
Committee. Letter of thanks and appreciation will be sent for his past services. Vacancy
will be filled at regular appointment time after Town Meeting.
POLE NAINTENANCE:
Petition approved for maintenance of 9 poles on Chickering Ed., jointly owned.
TRAFFIC:
Traffic control agreement received for execution by the Board. Referred to Town Counsel for
legality; re traffic control on Peters St. and Rt. 125.
Letter re Rt. 114 safety traffic control meeting, April 24, ii a.m., 100 Nashua St., Boston.
Chief Lawlor, J. Willis and Sel. NcEvoy will attend.
Copy of letter to Chief Lawlor from J. D'Angelo received re No Parking signs on Rt. 125 in
front of 99 North. Matter under processing.
NERRIMACK VALLEY HOME CARE:
Received summary of services and statistics on expenses to North Andover elderly citizens.
Letter forwarded to Advisory Board withthe request they support the Selectmen in their action
to i~nd the program.
NERRINACK VALLEY PLANNING CONNISSION DUES:
Board received the amount of assessment due the above-named from the town. Board requested
Town Counsel to determine if North Andover is legally a member of the Commission and if town
is obligated to pay the amount levied for the year on the town ($3,256.80).
CAMPION HALL STUDY COI$[[TTEE:
The Board of Selectmen voted to accept Campion F~11 Study Committee report and requested a
letter of co~n~endation be sent to them on a job well done.
GROUND BREAKING- PEDESTRIAN OVEEPASS:
Official gronr~ breaking ceremonies will take place on April 8, at 8:30 a.m. Board authorized
Selectman Gnthrie to represent the' Board... Mr. Guthrie has worked long and diligently the past
three years to expedite this project.
DOG OFFICER:
The Board voted to close the receiving of applications for the position of Dog Officer and
directed J.'Willis to set up appointments for interviews this coming Saturday, April 12,
starting at 10 a.m.
