Selectmen Joseph A. Guthrie, Thomas J. McEvoy with Chairman John F. Ceady, presiding. The
warrant and minutes were approved as submitted.
Robert B. Hymanson, 162 Greene St. and Maxis P~ Citron, 35 Surrey Drive were drawn for Jury
duty, November 3, at Salem. Elsie F. Eastwood, 138 High St., and John P. Burke, 9 Chadwick
St. were drawn for Jury duty, Nov. 3, at Lawrence.
POLE PETi~ION:
Petition approved for pole location on Wayne Street.
Letter from Andover Selectmen advised the Board that the date of. Nov. 22, 9:30 A.~. was
all right to perambulate N.A. - Andover boundaries.
Letter from B. Inspector with approval of masonary work done at new town garage.
Letter frmm School Co~,.:ttee with approval of dedication of Pedestrian Overpass to late Mr.
Letter from Louis Miuicncci requesting enrollment of member in the Blue Cress-Elue Shield pre-
gram. J. W~l~s to contact T. Treasurer as to eligibility.
Letter from Mass. League of Cities & Towns requesting reimbursement for House Rule research.
J. Willis to ascertain whether town could donate said sum, legally.
Letter from Dept. of Public Welfare re Food Stamps.
CO~PLAINT:
K. Hilbert sent letter complaining that Niddle Airport Beacon was interfering with his T.V.
set and stations. J. Willis will investigate further.
Towa Farm:
Selec+,me~ discussed the matter of what to do with the Town Farm. The town has 3 alternatives:
1. Sell ~uilding with minimum amount of land.
2. Tear it down.
3. Eeep bl'~di~g and board up house to protect from vandalism and possible town suits if
person gets hu~t trespassing on said property.
The B card requested J. W~ll~s to consult with B. Inspector as to cost of hoarding up the
place. Selectman McEvoy produced the deed obtained through the courtesy of Registry of Deeds,

SOH00I COMMITTEE:
~embers of. the School Co~'.:ttee except Atty. Trembly met with the Selectmen to discuss the
action of the Civil Court re the School Committee budget..action was in favor of the School
Committee. Letter,, from Town Counsel stated that Judge Nitch~ completely ignored Sudhury
cas~ in-his decision against Town. Letter from former Judge, Arthur Thomson, recommended the
decision should he appealed to a higher court; that the School Committee was amiss in its
failure to include the availability of state and federal funds in'its budget report to the
town. After ~ichard Haltmaier presented a hre~k down of available funds and a short discussion
Chairman Ceady asked the Board if there was any motion on the request of Town Counsel to
contest the.action of the'Civil Court. As there was no motion from any member, Chairman Coady,
declared that the Board will net take any further action on the present Civil Court action and
decision.
UNDAY:
A proclamation for UN Day, October 24, was adopted by the Selectmen and a copy given to the
reporter as requested by UN Day Chairman, Katherine Sheridan.
GAS EXCAVATIONS:
Approved: Petitions to excavate to repair gas mains on 0sgood, Cor. of Mass. Ave., 131 Osgood
St. and 262 Pleasant St. Petition to ~cavate for a gas service on Boxford St.
POLE LOCATIONS:
Petition approved to install 10 poles (remove 10 poles) on Sale~ St. No hearing necessary.
Hearing set on petition to install 1 Joint pole on Camden St., cor. of Wayne St. and 148 feet
southwest of Wayne St. Hearing: Oct. 27, 1975, at 7':30 P.M.
