TOPICS PI~!S:
Chairman Outhrie stated that the Board would be in receipt of 100% Topics Plans from George
Barradi, State Dept. of Public Works. A hearing ~ill have to set up for a public meeting
on said plans. Board voted to authorize Chairman to set date and place of meeting and to
have abutters notified. Men from State Dept. x,ill be present to explain plans.
~SUR~NCE COSTS:
Selectman McEvoy stated Senator Rurak and Rep. Hurrell should be asked to see ~.~hat they
can do about the outrageous rising insuranse car costs. The Board authorized Mr. McEvoy
to draft said letter.

Henry Fink appeared before the Board to request a No Parking °mEn to be installed om the
east side of Johnson Street, opposite the Boston Hill Slc~ Tow to prevent cars from parking
at the entrance of his driveway blocking his exit. Board voted to send letter to Chief
Lawlor for his recommendation and action on the request.
LIC~2~SING CO~,~SSIONERS:
Letter received from the Board of Appeals re Farkas request for an Outdoor Parking license
asking the Board's views on the application. The Commissioners referred them to copy of
letter received from Town Counsel containing reason for denial of above-nmmed appticatian.

-The Board of Selectmen held their regular meeting on this date with all members 9resent;
Selectmen John F. Ooady, Thomas J. NcE~oy with Chairman Joseph A. Cmthrie presiding. The
minutes and warrant were approved as sub~itted.
HEREFO~ CORP.:
Discussion on the controversy between the Planning Board and Board of Appeals re the
renewal of the Herford Corp. Earth Permit once more consumed the Selectmen's weekly meet-
ing time. In conclusion, the Board voted to pursue the route of a-,,Declaratory Judgement"
on the matter and wil2 advise the two Boards ~o engage separate Special Counsels and to
appoint one or more members of their Boards to represent them.
MEE~MACK VALLEY TRANSIT AUTHOEITY: ,'
Selectman Ocady reported on meeting with Nary Manzi and Paul Herbert on Japery 16, 1976.
They discussed the matter of funding the transportatiom for the Elderly, reimbursement to
the town was discussed under the auspices cf the ~ransit Authority. Grant applications
must be submitted by February 13, 1976. The above-named will meet with the Council On
Aging this week. Mini-Bus will be delivered January 30, 1976 and formally presented to
the Council on Aging on February 4. Applications for a driver for the mini-bus will be
advertised.

OVERPASS SID~NALES:
Letter from Sherman Eidleman, District Highway Engineer, advised the Board that they would
investigate the fence that isalleged to be on StAte property and, if it is, the owners will
be notified to remove it. He also advised that Department policy prohibits the removal of
healthy trees. (Cyr, Highway Surveyor, wanted the seven, beautiful Willow trees removed. )
A copy of a letter sent to the Brockside Complex was enclosed. It requested removal of said
fence. If not removed, State would remove it and bill the complex the coshs. Migh~ay
Surveyor had complained that the fence prevented removal of snow from the sidewalks~, used
by the J school children.
AUXILIARY POLICE PATROLS:
Letter requested from Chief Lawlor stated that he would begin using the Auxiliary Police
to patrol school grounds.
TOPICS NEETING:
A meeting will be held Febreary 12, 1976, at 7:O0 P.M. to inform the public of plans to
install sidewalks on Chickering Rd., Osgood Street in conjunction with the overhead pass.
Hearing meeting will be advertised, 48 abutters notified and letters sent to ~bert Tierney,
George Barardi, William Pretti and Representative from the E~ Lionel Parle ~ineering ¢o.
to be present at said meeting. Chief Dew will be notified that the meeting room might
have to be used if everyone attends.
