The Engineers appointed by the Selectmen of the town, would report the ~qre apparatus in good order~ with the excep- tion of the hose. A part of the hose is old and has been in constant use siuce the Fire Department was organized in this town; at the fire at the Merrimack school house they would not stand to force water that distance, eight hundred feet,--scverat lengths burst before water couhl be got on the/ire. There has been one Reservoir built the htst year: 24~ feet deep, 16 feet diameter~ located at the corner of Main and Third streets, which is now well filled with water; the other Reser- voirs are in good condition at this time, Feb. 17~ 1876.
