REPORT OF ENGINEERS.
The Engineers appointed by the Selectmen of the town,
would report the ~qre apparatus in good order~ with the excep-
tion of the hose. A part of the hose is old and has been in
constant use siuce the Fire Department was organized in this
town; at the fire at the Merrimack school house they would not
stand to force water that distance, eight hundred feet,--scverat
lengths burst before water couhl be got on the/ire.
There has been one Reservoir built the htst year: 24~ feet
deep, 16 feet diameter~ located at the corner of Main and Third
streets, which is now well filled with water; the other Reser-
voirs are in good condition at this time, Feb. 17~ 1876.
