RE: Engineering Review
Great Pond Road Lot `A'
Special Permit for Watershed District
Dear Ms. Griffin:
In response to your request, Coler & Colantonio, Inc., has reviewed the requirements
under the Zoning Bylaws relative to the Watershed District Special Permit for the above
referenced project. The plan has been reviewed for conformance under these submittal
requirements and standard engineering practice. The submittal package included the
following information:
Plan Entitled:
® "Plan of Land in North Andover, Mass" one sheet dated 5/5/99. Prepared by
Atlantic Engineering. Received May 10, 1999_
Reports Entitled:
e Letter of Submittal, Hydrology Report and Project Summary, Dated 5/5/99.
Prepared by Atlantic Engineering. Received May 10, 1999.
We offer the following comments:
Zang law:
1. 4.136.)3.)b.)The proposed site runoff will discharge in the non-discharge buffer zone.
2. Section 4.136) 3.)c.)The proposed access drive, detention basin and utility
connections are each located in the iron-disturbance buffer zone.

3. Section 8.3) 5.)e.)i.)The location map is not to scale, however the site can be
located.
4. Section 8.3) 5.)e.)iv.)Utility easements, if any, should be indicated.
5. Section 8.3) 5.)e.)vi.)A zoning table, indicating compliance with the bylaw, should
be provided.
6. Section 8.3) 5.)e.)vii.)Catch basins and manholes should provide a 4' sump. Test
pits should be provided to indicate the depth high groundwater in vicinity of the
proposed detention basin, CuItec recharger, house foundation and drywell. A detail
should be provided for the proposed foundation drain and drywell. The location of the
proposed Cultec Recharger should be indicated on the plan. The drainage calculations
indicate a decrease of 0.12 acres in lot area under post construction conditions. The
proposed 85' 10" PVC drain is indicated as discharging without treatment or erosion
controls. It is unclear that runoff north of the proposed basin will be captured and
channeled into the basin. The proposed basin discharge should be controlled and
directed to the ultimate discharge point.
Additional Comments:
7. A cross section detail should be provided of the proposed access drive. The proposed
drive should be graded to facilitate runoff control.
We appreciate the opportunity to assist the Planning Board on this project and hope that
this information is sufficient for your needs. If you have any questions please do not
hesitate to contact us.
Very truly yours,
COLER &COLANTONIO, INC.
