To Whom it May Concern,
New ACT Theater building located at 1630 Osgood Street.
We are hoping to use the existing building to create an arts center. The center will
include a stage for performances with between 300-400 seats, dressing rooms, and
workshop. Act Theater Company will be performing about 12 shows a year in the space,
and we anticipate renting out the theater to local theater groups about 10 times a year,
so that they may also perform their productions in the space. In addition we will be
offering classes for adult and children in drama, dance, theater production, and voice.
We have included 3 studios for class rooms and rehearsal space. Our hope is to
provide a cultural center in North Andover where the community can see, participate,
and learn about the performing arts.
Changes will be made to the interior of the building to bring it up to ADA compliance, put
up walls and flooring, create a lobby and concessions area, rehearsal spaces and the
actual theater itself. Other areas of improvement include storage on the 2nd floor, a
lighting/sound booth, and worksop to build sets. We hope to have the project completed
by fall with possible use this summer for our theater intensive summer classes and adult
cabaret show.
Very little change will be made to the exterior of the building. We will require a sign on
the building front and we would like to move the main entrance to the front of the
building as well. Please see drawing for a better understand of the exterior plan for the
building. We may do some flowers and small shrubs in the front of the building to pretty
it up a bit but not until the main portion of the work is done.
As this is part of the Osgood complex there is ample parking in the parking lot directly in
front of the existing building. As for signage we are looking for a main sign of some kind
out on Rt 125 at the stop light on the left side of Osgood properties (if you are facing the
building) and then a directional sign on the access road showing people where to park.
