AGENDA ITEM A Organizational Discussion
Discussion: AL: introduced new members to board. Discussed how he would like to get more
involved with School Committee and their budget discussions. Looking for a volunteer
member to attend School Committee meetings. TT volunteered to attend SC meetings and
give updates to Fincom members.
AL: discussed issues with the town from prior years and gave brief summary.
School budget always an issue. People move to town for their schools
BC believes town needs a special ed director who knows what they are dealing with.
Development (Commercial) in town RT 125 sewer project to attract business to
that area but with no potential business interest. Town would not pay for project
only abutters, biggest abutter is Ozzy Properties but they have their own outlet.
Fire Station location not yet finalized Prescott St or Airport
Do we need Fire station. on 114 with all the development
new development.
Old Police Station should building be torn down or rehab for new school admin
building. Both designs came below budgeted amount.
Kittredge school gym plans came in over budget not able to put correct floor in
DL would like to see an explanation on the gym floor.
Town will be changing over to GIC insurance which will save the town money.
Would like to see John Simons present his CPA plans in a timely manner. Past years
he presented to fincom late, not enough time for them to review.
