8 FUTURE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND PROGRAM
9 Global look at playgrounds for a broad community effort:
10 Discussed were: Performing a Quick study to prioritize,Quick Study to be done ourselves vs, hire, Refurbish,
what are long term plans, Standard Template vs.General Boundaries,Financial vs. Soft, Matching Funds
(PTO/CPC),sustainability
11 To be determined: How to balance equity across schools(student enrollment, density, population, ages,
conditions of school playgrounds?), Conditions of town playgrounds,no one to be precluded from school
grounds,out-country vs. down town,
12 Do Town Playgrounds get more use?Turf: not allowed
13 CPC efforts to be subsidized,Always have a champion, Involve community around the playgrounds
(neighborhoods)
14 Don't re-invent the wheel:Start with Sargent's Plan,share valuable Information regarding vendors, fundraising
15 Can replace, Can Not repair existing playground equipment
16 Must Have: Operation &Maintenance Plan
17 Create an endowment as part of original project(fundralse for endowment)
