Note: Documents used in this meeting are listed in Document Table, herein. Non Finance Committee Members in attendance John Simons (Simons) Chair of the Community Preservation Committee :. r.. Simons: Spoke of the list of projects from the Community Preservation Committee that got approved. Also described the detailed long range spreadsheet(5 year projection),it is used for two uses, showing an historical listing of all projects we ever funded also showing how much money we took in. The other thing it is used for is that we do trends etc., and we like to project out up 5 years to see how much money we will likely take in. We always take a conservative posture. List of projects; I. Affordable Housing Trust Simon: We are funded every year and we have the ability to go out and purchase property for affordable housing purposes when the opportunity comes up and we don't have to wait for Town Meeting. 2. Middle School Athletic Complex-Final Design. 3. Drummond Playground-Playground renovation Program (this is a continual-Lion of what was put in place). 1 April 11,2017 I 4. Ridgewood Cemetery Restoration. (Final stages started about 5 years ago). 5. Second Burying Ground. Simon: Some trees and brush need to be taken,down and improvements of some of the gravestones. 6. Stevens Estate Trails Simon: spoke of the Volunteers who work on this project and put in a huge amount of time and effort on this. 7. Family Housing(Francis and Baldwin Street) -Door Replacement and Exterior Lighting. (Veteran's Housing project). S. Restoration of Historical Fare Equipment Simon: spoke of the restoration of some of this historic fire equipment that will be displayed in the new fire station and the thinking is that it will be used in parades. 9. Stevens Memorial Library-Masonry Refurbishment Simon: spoke the serious erosion(near front door at the library)on themasonry that needs to be done 10. Administrative Expenses Simon: we bumped up the amount this year. Simon: spoke of the 3 areas where the CPA are allowed to spend money 1. Affordable Housing 2. Open Space/Recreation 3. Historical Simon: Spoke of various projects that did not get funded and the reasons why BC and Committee:thanked John Simons for coming. See attached Warrant Articles and Vote BC: Ori the schools we know the amounts, but we do not have the formal request yet(the final piece) from the school.
