Subject: Minutes of meeting 15 January 1968.
1, The fifty-first regular meeting was called to order by the chairman at
7:42 IM in the Tree Wardents office.
2. Members Present: Messrs, Lordan, Chopuliso Lafond3 Lewis, Mrs. Kittredge
and associate member MY. Roberts.
3. Members Absontt Messrs. Demers and Root.
4. Minutes: The minutes of the meeting of 18 December 1967 were accepted as
submitted.
50, Index and Map: Mr. Roberts presented a verbal progress report in Which he
stated that the project has not yet been completed. The key has been re-
vised and the accuracy of the map is to be verified. Committee meetings
have been set up to continue the project. The planning board map was re-
turned.
6. Conservation Fund: The Conservation Fund, aiticle was prepared and submitted
to the Board of Selectmen The article is as follows:
"To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
$5000.00 said sum to be placed in a Conservation Fundp to be
allowed to accumulate from year to year and to be expended by
the Conservation Commission for the promotion, development and
better utilization of the natural resources of the the town, for
the protection of watershed. resources of they town, for acquiring
options for the purchase of real estate and for any other purpose
authorized by Section B-C of Chapter hD of the General Laws as
amended including the purchase of landolt
In the discussion of the article the following points were brought out:
the need for publicity; the desirability of sending a representative to
other organizations to explain and request support; conduct research for
arguments to support the article; investigate methods of obtaining matching
funds from State and Federal Governments.

of Essex County in cooperation with Essex Conservation District, Sep—
tember 1967.
All agreed to the advantages ofsuch a survey. Mr, Roberts Vdl1 attempt
to make additional copies f or further studJr,4 Plans to initiate such a
study will be formulated at subsequent meetings.
