Associate members - Henry Fink and Fred Worthen. Minutes - accepted as corrected. Old Business 1 . Junior Chamber of Commerce "Know Your Town" - BA,th excellent. Frank Lewis and Henry Fink set it up and ran it. Frank Lewis moved to have the secretary write a thank you note to the McLay' s for donating the shrubs for the booth. 2 . North Andover Improvement Society sent a check for $100 . Matthew Connolly, Director of Division of Conservation Service, donated his speaking fee to us . Thank Henry Donovan and Mr. Connolly. It has been put into our Conservation Fund Account to be used to acquire land. Globe Land John Roberts contacted the county engineer. The county is acquiring land, but does not have a specific management process . Essex Aggie is using county land close to the school to demonstrate good land management . The county itself, is doing nothing. The land that is acquired as open space will stay open space and will not be used for any other purpose unless an Act of Legislature goes through. The county' s objective is to acquire land in the Ipswich River water sheds . Their budget is variable. The local Conservation Committee and the Department of Natural Resources would handle any negotiations . Budget - $7200 - $10,000 . Any purchases would be approved by local Conservation Committee and through Department of Natural Resources . Marjorie V. Kittredge is attending a Conservation Committee meeting in Boxford on the 19th and she will ask for their cooperation in contacting county. Pat Trombly and Marjorie V. C Correspondence Correspondence dating back to September that should have been sent to the Conservation Commission has been pidgeon-holed in the Selectman' s office. 1 . ) Letter from the Lawrence Gas Company - Letter of intent stating they intended to cross the Merrima& River with a pipe and then run it parallel to the shore . They said that if they did not hear from us they would proceed. We received the letter from. the Selectman after the time had elapsed that we could have made the proper suggestions . Leo LaFond will discuss this with the Selectmen. New Business Conservation Commission A letter should be sent to the Selectman stating that Dr. Vincent T rano, 23 Fernwood Avenue, Mr. Frederick Worthen, Great Fond Road, Mr. Henry Fink have been appointed Associate. Members of the Conservation Commission. Leo LaFond says there are several letters at the Selectman' s office of people who have expressed interest in the Commission. Leo LaFond will get a list and Marjorie V. Kittredge will send a post card inviting them to the next meeting. Johnson Street Land A letter should be sent to Fenton and Elias with a copy to John J. Willis Sr. , 154 Pleasant Street, saying that - be sure any work is done on any part of the site, they must file a letter of intent explaining how they plan to handle the drainage and how this will effect the brook and what their plan for the brook is . Site Review Committee 1t is no longer possible for the whole committee to view all sites, so there will be a Site Review Committee which will work in conjunction with the Committee of the Planning Board. Leo LaFond will head up the Committee and Marjorie V. Kittredge and Pat Trombly will be available to go when possible. John Montero and Frig ftster are the. Sub-Division Committee of the Planning Board.. Put up a notice on the Town Hall Bulletin that the Conservation Committee meeting is every 2nd Wednesday of the month. Forest Street - 3 Parcels of Land Appraisal of each parcel - $200 a piece - $000 total . Pat Trombly suggested that we check with the Department of Natural Resources and other town commissions to see what they have paid for appraisals . Marjorie V. Kittredge will call Phoebe Meiner and Charles Hatch from Boxford and Henry Sawyer from Middleton. Pat Trombly moved that we form a sub-committee to review plans . Report back and decide whether we should start negotiations .. Leo seconed the notion. Request that Fred Worthen and Arthur Resta and Pat Trombly review the appraisals and report their recommendations as to the advisability to buy the land. Know Your Town Model that Thompson made not complete. Damage done to it . Kidgs wiritng all over it. Thompson said he will complete model by end of June. Henry Fink. wants to have a plastic cover on it . Henry will see that this i done.. Forest Street - Joseph Barba Allo If there are any plans for changing the grade of land they must file a. Letter of Intent . Check with Bud Cyr. If it needs to be looked at Marjorie V. Kittredge will check and then write a letter saying that he must file a Letter of Intent.
