HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-07-10 Conservation Commission Minutes MINUTES OF JULY 10, 1974 MEETING MEMBERS PRESENT: Mrs. Trombly, Chairman Mr. Chepulis Mr. D' Angelo Mr. Resca Mr. Fink, Associate Member Mr. Turano, Associate Member MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Lewis Mr. LaFond Mrs. Kittridge CALLED TO ORDER: 8: 15 p.m. Mr. Steinberg, owner of land around Ray' s Pond, attended the meeting and answered questions about the land. A figure of $40,000.00 is the asking price based on a figure of $225, 000.00 for 75 acres of 60 house lots after road construction. The commission feels the land should be appraised before an offer is made. It was agreed that Mrs. Trombly would call several and choose one appraiser based on price and amount of work to be done. A motion was made by Mr. Chepulis to elect associate members for one year. Seconded by Mr. D'Angelo. Motion carried. The Commission received a copy of the Environmental Assessment Form for Appledore (242-6) and will write a letter to the Department of Natural Resources to ask the following: A. What Engineering basis is offered in answer to Item 12. B. Engineering Specs on Dam construction should be approved by the Department of Public Works, Division of Waterways. A & B is a motion made by Mr. D'Angelo and seconded by Mr. Chepulis. Motion carried. The Open Space Plan is to be updated with April 1, 1975 as the due date. Committee members to check out construction sites: Mr. Chepulis Steven' s Pond Area Mr. D' Angelo Salem Gardens Mr. Resta Johnson Circle Mr. Turano Water sample from Appledore and Johnson Circle. Motion made to adjourn by Mr. Chepulis and seconded by Mr. D'Angelo. ADJOURNED- 10 :32 p.m.
