TO: Conservation Commission
Meeting: Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 P.M. Town Building
Public Hearing on Greenwood -- Chestnut St. development
1. A hearing will be held at the Dec. 2 meeting on the development along Chestnut St.
Notices will be distributed prior to this. Walk the site with special attention
to the stream on west side of Chestnut St. , area of proposed siltation basin,
steep slopes on east side of Chestnut St. Note marsh and pond near Phil Busby's.
2. Rules and Regulations Governing Conservation Land.
For the Dec. 2 meeting, I want a rough draft of regulations for public use of
land under our jurisdiction. Leo and Joe are assigned to do this. They can be
very simple — open from dawn to dusk, no motorized vehicles, snowmobiles, etc. ,
campfires by permit? Would suggest you consult police and fire chiefs for their
suggestions.
3. Certificate of Compliance — Stevens St. roadwork done by Highway Dept. Mr. Cyr
has requested the Compliance Certificate as all work in Notice is completed. Bill
Chopulis will view the site prior to Dec. 2 meeting to determine if Orders complied
with. The Commission will vote to issue or deny Certificate at meeting.
4. Mr. Cyr is interested in exploring possibility of acquiring river front property
for recreation site. For the Dec. 2 meeting, Henry will contact Bud Cyr to find
out what land areas he was thinking of, what facilities he would suggest. Also,
check with Assessor's maps to find out ownership of these areas.
5. Wetlands Projects under construction:
A. Arthur will :check on Seccareccio, 233 Johnson St.
B. Vince will check on Appledore, especially any sediment control measures
undertaken.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Pat
