HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-08-10 Conservation Commission Minutes CONSERVATION COMMISSION MEETING AUGUST 10, 1977 Present were: P. Trombly, Chairperson W. Mitton V. Turano A. Reska H. Fink D. Linehan Ingalls Crossing - Wetlands Determination Exempt from about every lot. Letter was recieved on the 8th of August from Olympic Construction Co of Lowell.- filed. It was suggested that the site be reviewed and that the engineer would be contacted and find out who the owner is a'nd ask the en- gineer to there at the site. Plan has already been approved. Douglas Drive Should be no problem except for Lot 1. Mr Wilson is to sent a Request for Determination Form and the Commission will answer with- in 21 days. Wetlands Mapping Project Mrs. Trombly showed slides and made a presentation. Interdiscipli- nary Enviromental Planning is the firm to be hired. The funding is coming from the Conservation Commission Fund $5,000 and Town Meeting 1973 75,000. This is a very important project. This will be the expertise of the Commission. Any developer that does not agree with this will have to find their expertise. Wetlands zoning should be able to be done with this. This will also be for evaluation for ground water or flood control.There will be two watersheds (surface & ground) This study will be our expert witness and would also be used to help the developers. Hopefully some groups will be able to go with I.E.P. for community awareness. We will have public and open meetings. Most towns have gone into wetlands zoning that have had this mappind done. V. Turano made a motion to accept proposed Task I & 2. Great Pond Woodland Perimeter drain to close to the septic system. Board of Health wants them to dig a dry well in place of this clay barrier between the perimeter drain and the septic system. Commission will look at Great Pond Woodland Sat. , if things are not what site design calls for all boards should be notified. Boston Hill Ski Area Plans are not in. A Cease & Desist order will be issued. Motion made by V. Turano, second by W. Mitton. Mr. Fink abstained. Move was made, to send a copy to Zoning Board of Appeals with cover letter on violation.
