Mr. Barman made a motion, seconded by Mr. Oegood that the letter rsceived from Austin Broadh~rst, Esq. be referred to the Board ~f Selectmen f~r study. A lette~ was received from the Board of Selectmen inviting the Board to attend a meeting April 8, 1957. A letter will be written to Mr. Brassemr requesting him to return the file cf the Kimball Heirs. The meeting adJeuxmed at 11:00 p.m. E. A. Balzius Ole~k (Type~ by Anna n~nahue~ April 8, 19~ - Special Meeting The meeting was called to order at 8:05 p.m. Members prssent were: Nicholas F. Nicetta, Chairman; John B. Osgood, Secretary; James N. Barman, N~w~d G~lm~- and Robert J. B~rke. Mr. Herbert Weiland was present, by request of the Chairman, to assist in dividing the Town into federal census tracts for a 10-year period. Mr. Weiland stated that +~ particular census had nothing to do with the State census. It was stated that the entire Greater Lawrence area will be tracted for census taking. The T~wa tracte will be em an average of four thousand people. When eom- pleted, these will be sent te Washington where they will become the official con- sas tracts. The p~oose of this census is to establish a permanent area from ~e census to the next. Mr. Weiland pointed out the size of the tract ~is of great importance, and he felt a small oue w~uld be adequate, such as a section of t~he Towa that is fafrly well stabilized with approximately two or three tracts in the vicinity of ~OO people in each. Oae tract including the business district will be the largest. He explained it is imperative to have a boundary that can be follo.~d, such as, a street, railroad tracks, brook, et~. Mr. Weiland affe~ed to dra~ up the tract map free of charge. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m. Anna
