HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-12-06lOS Monday- December 6, 1965 Regular Meeting The Planning Board held their regular meeting on Monday evening, December 6, 1965 at 7=30 P.M. in the Town Bx~Llding. The following members ~ere preseut and voting: JIw~-s M. Ban~a~, Chairman; William Chepu~ts, Secretary~ Boward Gi~, Robert J. Burke and George B. Farley. Atty. John Willis ~as present with plans to have the Board sign as not requiring approval under the Sub-division Control Law. Donald Brasseur showed pre~ plans to the Board for a sub-division of land off Massachusetts Ave. The Board set a hearing to be held om December 21, 1965 at 7:30 P.M. Regarding this particular land, Atty. W411~s spoke about Lot A o~ land of 0ares, saying he has a cliemt who want to b~ it. The plan was sigae~ by the Pla-w~ng Board ohe~, but Willis says it was improperly recorded and should be taken off the record. Lots A'& B on land of Oates is not ~-cluded ia this present sub-division. Mr. ~oward Thomson was present as representing a group of 6 people who want to serve as a Committee for the second Fire Station. Be asked about the pla_w* of the CM~PC and the Pllw~w~ Board regarding the T~ garages, fire station, etc. and the special appropriation concerned with it. Be though it would he a good idea to get together so that a s~m41ar arbicle would not he presented. Mr. Barman suggested that Mr. Thomson call Mr. Young of the CMTPO for fu~-ther Mr. Charles Matses of Charles Ca~struction Co. appeared before the Board to see whether or not an office building could be built oa a parcel of ~ across the street fro~ his S~atto~ M4~ prope.rty and containing approx.. 1~,000 sq. ft. ~e said an insurance adjusting f~m (Bay State Adjusting Co.) would like to b~ the la~ and erect a 2-story office buil~8. The area is ~a~ed Industrial and he cannot understand wh~an office ~a,.l'ld.~,,g cannot be built in such a ~o~e. Mr. Bannma said he would be in favor of ha~-~ an article in the warrant to allow office buildings ia an Industrial area. The other members agreed. Mr. Gilman made a motion that a notice be published in the newspaper that the Pl~w-~-~ Board will hold a public meeting ia order that amy interested to~m- people can attend amd ree~d, suggest, etc. a~ ch,w~ees, revisioae~ etc. of the Zoning ~y-Lawa. Mr. Farley seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. Atty. Willis spoke to the ~oard about releasing the Bond~ for Meadow La~e awe Martin Ave. Mr. Banaan told ~ that when we receive letters from the Highway Dept., the Pla~-~-8 Board will send a letter to Mr. Maker to release the Bond.
