HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-12-05Monday - December 5, 1966 Regular Meeting - 1 Hearing The Planning Board held their regular meeting on Monday evening, December 5, 1966 at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Office Building. The following members were present and voting: Robert J. Burke, Vice Chairman; Howard G~lw~n and George B. Farley. Mr. Chepulis cot~ld not attend due to illness in the family. There were 12 people present for the hearing of the evening. 1. Sutton Hill Co, - Subdivision Hearin~ Acting Chairman Robert J. Burke read the legal notice of the subdivision hearing. Mr. Sam DiMauro and his engineer were present. The engineer expl-~ned the plans to the Board and the people present. ~r, DiMauro said the subdivision comprises aporox. 8 acres - he ha4 given the wrong number to the clerk. The abutters questioned what was going to be dome about the drainage since the land is quite wet. The Board explained that they have to get the approval of the Board of Health - a percolation test has to be made. Mr. Busby, not an i~nediate abutter, said he noticed that test holes had been dug in that area and that there was alot of water. One of the abutters said he has a corner lot near th~ brook and is afraid the water will drain down to them. Mr. Busby said. he was not opposed to the subdivision but was concerned about the drainage. Drainage was the main problem with the abutters. Mr. Busby spoke about the Hatch Act applying to that area. It was explained that a building permit hinges on the result of the percolation tests. Mr. Farley made a motion to take the petition under advisement. Mr. Gilman seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. Old N, A, Real.ty Trust: Atty. Victor Hatem and Ben Osgood were present and asked for the release of the bank book on one of their subdivisions. They also asked for a release of 19 lots in the "Morningside" subdivision and they ~ill put up a bond for what- ever Mr. Nicetta wants. An amount of $5~00 was quoted. Mr. $~1w~, made a motion to approve the release. Mr. Farley seconded the moticm and the vote was Atty. J. Albert Bradley and John and Xastant Shay appeared before the Board and presented plans to re-~me to g~neral Business a paroel of land on Turnpike Street, next to the Drive-In theater land. A hearing will be held at the Ja~r~y 9, 1~67 meeting of the Fl_a,,ntng BC~. Zonine The Clerk ~,,~'ormed the Boar~ that the_ supply of Zo~t-E By-Laws is rather lc~ and that it wtll Be necessary to re-print a new supply. The Board discussed whether or not to charge for future copies of the By-Laws. Mr. G~lm=~ made a motion to charge $1.00 per copy of Z~-t~g By-~aws, if it is legal for the Board to do so. Mr. Farley seconded the motion and the vo~e was unanimous. The Clerk wtll cheek with Town Oouasel as to the legality of charging for By-~aws. SUBDIVISION: Douglas Wilson appeared before the Board with plans for a subdiviaic~ of his ~nd at the end of Lisa Lane. The Board suggested that he oh-wEe the lay- out of the plans and subdivide into .three more lots for i'=ture use or sale. Hr. Wilson said he has no plans for selling, But will submit proper ~ef~nitive plans to the Board. A hearing date was set for ~A--~ry 9, 1967. Mr. ~-~-'arrived at 8:15. Atty. Bradley returned to the meeting to withdraw the plans for re-zoning that he had submitted, ~e will s~t new plans an~ a complete description o£ the land. CATALDO APARTM~ DEFELOP~: A letter was read from Town Counsel relative to the Cataldo Apartment Develo._ _r~nt - it w~ ~ot be necessary for them to post a ix=~. Mr. Gilman m~4e a motion to leave everything up to the Board of Appeals to take the necessary acti.n. Mr. Burke seconded the motion and the vote was A letter will be sent to the Board of Appeals and the Building Inspector. HALTER REALT~ APARTMENT ~%T~LOP~: ~. Chepulie read the decision fr~a the Board of Appeals granting a Special Permit to the ~alker Realty for an apartment development ~n ~ Street. BISTc~IO DISTRICT STUDY CC~MITTEE: A letter and a report was received frc~ the Historic District Study C~: concerning the Historic District proposed in an Article to be inserted in the Warrant for Town Meeting. The ~istoric District ~tudy Cow~ttee will hold a public hearing at some future date. SUTTON E J, COMPANY: The Board diseussed the hearing that was held for a subdivision for Suttee Hill Oomp~ off Sutton Hill Road. Mm. G~. ~ade a motion to APPROF~ the subdivision subject to the usual conditions. Hr. Farley seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. The meeting ~dJourned at · /,Clerk
