The following members were present and voting: Arthur Drummond, Chairman; Daniel T. O'Leary, Secretary; Donald J. Leonard, Philip Arsenault and Associate Member James A. ~lynn. This meeting was called to discuss the Welch petition again. Mr. and Mrs. Welch and John Caron were present. Mr. Welch showed letters to the Board that he had received from the Selectmen relative to the conditions at his plumbing building and not storing materials, etc. He said if this variance were granted and he was able to erect the new building, storage would be possible and there would be no complaints. Mr. Leonard discussed the right of way and the closeness of the building to the lot. Mr. Welch said he needs space desperately. Mr. Leonard suggested shifting the building and bringing the parking to rear. John Caron said that would create a serious fire hazard because the buildings would be too close. Mr. Welch said he is presently using 6 garages at various places for the storage of materials and trucks and he would like to have everything under one roof. John Caron said that the Baileys are chronic complainers in the area. Mr. Welch said the trees could be removed. He said it would be a cement block building with a flat roof. He is getting larger trucks and needs the room. He now has 5 trucks. He will fix the slope if necessary. The railroad doesn't do anything for the upkeep of their area. He would fix the roadway and maintain it. After thorough discussion of the matter, Mr. O'Leary made a motion to GRANT the variance as it now stands and was presented. Mr. Glynn seconded the motion.
