HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-06-14 Board of Selectmen Supplemental Materials (2) BOARD OF SELECTMEN SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES JUNE 14, 2004 CALL TO ORDER: Wendy D. Wakeman called the meeting to order at 5:50 PM at the Stevens Memorial Library. ATTENDANCE: The following were present: Wendy Wakeman, Chairman; Rosemary Connelly Smedile, Clerk; James Xenakis; Donald B. Stewart; Mark J.T. Caggiano; Ray Santilli, Assistant Town Manager. Interviews for Candidates for Police Officers. Three candidates were interviewed for full-time positions in the Police Department. The candidates were as follows: Robert Barter of 51 Saint Botolph Street, Haverhill, MA. Justin Collins of 8 Delores Avenue, Derry, NH. Mark Wilson of 87 Main Street, North Andover, MA. Each candidate was asked various questions from the Board regarding background history, future involvement with the police department and scenarios in their position as a police officer. Candidates answered the questions respectfully and without hesitation. After the interviews, the Board agreed that these candidates were worthy of becoming police officers in North Andover. Donald Stewart made a MOTION, seconded by James Xenakis, to appoint Robert Barter, Justin Collins and Mark Wilson and offered employment conditioned on passing a successful medical examination, psychological assessment and meet the entrance requirements to the Police Academy. The Board congratulated the candidates and extended them a conditional offer of employment. Ray Santilli said that they would receive a letter confirming this conditional offer of employment in the next few days with further instructions. ADJOURNMENT: Rosemary Smedile made a MOTION, seconded by Mark Caggiano, to adjourn the meeting at 6:35 P.M. Vote approved 5-0. Adele J.
