HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-06-11 Board of Selectmen Supplemental Materials June 27, 2007 1 reviewed the minutes of June 25, 2007 as follows: Selectman Lanen voted Nay on Open Session Minutes of June 11, 2007. Rosemary asked him why he voted Nay. Dan said, First of all, he didn't agree with the overall tax rate going down 6.6% with the reclassification. He needed clarification. Rosemary Smedile said she spoke to the Assessors office and they explained that about 8% of taxpayers homes went up and the remaining either stayed the same or went down. Then Dan said, he though there was a mention of Liable in the discussion. There is no mention of Liable in the minutes. Mark Caggiano said, I remembered exactly how I worded it. "At this time my investigation has not shown any defamatory content but my investigation continues so there is no particular reference to a lawsuit." Mark continued to say, "Dan, If you want those exact words to be put into the minutes, I would be comfortable with that." Dan Lanen said that he thought the word Liable was mentioned. Mark Caggiano said, No. The Board did not make an Amendment to the minutes and the vote was not changed. I listened to the minutes of June 11, 2007 again today and there was no mention of the word Liable. Mark Caggiano's coments were exactly as he remembered.
