CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Rosemary Connelly Smedile called the meeting to order at 5:40 PM at Town
Hall, 2n floor conference room.
ATTENDANCE: The following were present: Rosemary Connelly Smedile, Chairman; Mark J.T. Caggiano
Clerk; Richard A. Nardella, also present: Mark Rees, Town Manager, William Thompson of TBI, Inc and Steve
Soucy, National Grid
Absent: Daniel P. Lanen; Tracy M. Watson;
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
The meeting was a continuation of a public hearing that was begun on September 8, 2008 for a pole petition
(Plan #3823723) to provide electric service to TBI, Inc on Holt Road. The continuation was necessary
because National Grid had changed the design of the electric service but did not inform the Town until the
night of the scheduled public hearing. The Board decided to table the discussion on September 8, 2008, to
give town departments additional time the opportunity to comment on the revised plan. The Public Works, Fire
Department and Board of Health all submitted statements that the revised plan was not objectionable to them.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts was the only abutter to the property besides TBI. The Commonwealth
did not respond to inquires and provide input into the revised plan nor were they in attendance at the opening
of the public hearing.
Selectmen Nardella made a MOTION, seconded by Selectmen Caggiano to approve the revised pole petition
and it passed unanimously. Vote 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT:
Selectmen Caggiano made a MOTION, seconded by Selectmen Nardella to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 p.m.,
and it passed unanimously. Vote approved 3-0.
