On April 19, 1995, the'Department of Environmental Protection,
Division of Water Supply, issued a Notice of Noncompliance to the
Willows Racquet & Fitness Centre which required the Centre to dis-
continue the use of the facility's private well as a source of
public water supply and to connect to the Town of North Andover
Public Water Supply System.
On May 23, 1995, Department officials met with the manager of
the Willows Racquet & Fitness Centre, Mr. Michael J. Coconis.
Mr. Coconis stated that the Centre lacked the financial resources
to comply with the Notice of Noncompliance. Mr. Coconis has since
provided the Department with unsigned tax returns and unaudited
financial statements.
Based on the unsubstantiated information provided to the
Department, it is the Department's opinion that the Centre has
failed to show that it lacks the financial resources to comply with
the Notice of Noncompliance, issued on April 19, 1995.
The Department extends THE FINAL DATE for the Willows Racquet
& Fitness Centre to comply with the requirements of the Notice of
Noncompliance to September 15, 1995.
Please note that failure to comply with the Notice of
Noncompliance by September 15, 1995, will result in additional
enforcement action by the Department.
