Thibodeau, P.E. Public Works Department 384 Osgood Street North Andover, MA 01845 Dear Mr. Thibodeau: want to make you aware of a drainage problem at the intersection of Great Pond Road and Pleasant Street. Beavers have built a dam near 243 Great Pond Road blocking the drainage that runs under Great Pond Road. The water now runs over Great Pond Road instead of under it at the base of the large hill coming out of the Old Town Center just before Pleasant Street. This is very dangerous during heavy rain because cars speed down the large hill and hydroplane when they hit the water. This will become a nightmare when that water begins to freeze. This is a very bad situation and a severe accident will occur if it is not corrected soon. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I received a call from Bruce, at DPW. He went to the location at GPR and Pleasant Street today. Apparently we were looking in the right place, but the hazard has somehow mitigated itself. The water was not topping the road as previously had been. Therefore no additional action is needed. Susan ' I
