The tenant, Mrs. Ghazal, complained that water leaked into the apartment and wet the carpeting. I saw no evidence of this, but it was not raining on the day of my inspection. It appears that a recently installed drain around the exterior of the building should solve any water problems. She also complained of a soap smell when people are using the washers and driers in the building. The drier vents are near her windows but I could not see an easy way to relocate them. Mrs. Ghazal also complained of noise from the boiler room. I inspected the boiler room and found the equipment to be in good working order. Due to the proximity of Mrs. Ghazal's apartment to the boiler room, she is bound to hear some noise when the boilers are operating, but there is nothing that can be done about this.
