HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-09-20BOARD OF APPEALS MEETIH} - Monday, Sept. 20, 1976 The Board of Appeals held its regular monthly meeting on Monday evening, Sept. 20, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Office Buildin~ meetin~ room. The followin~ members were present: A1 Frizelle, Vice Chairman a~i Actin~ Chairman (due to the illness of Frank Serio); Ralph R. Joyce, Esq. and Associate Member Stephen Doherty. There was no quorum; however, discussion was held on several matters. B.I. Charles Foster was also present. The Board discussed the proposed move of the offices by the Selectmen and all attended the Selectmen's meetin~ in a body to give their imput (which was futile). BIG JOKE. Discussion was held on the Matses plan for his proposed UmallU area. It was decided that a letter shall be sent to Atty. Willis statin~ cert-~ corrections must be shown on the plans before the Board will si~n them. Corrections needed pursuant to condition ~9 of the decision on the special permit. The plan should be to scale showing parcel "A" only. Plan should show the exit and entrance ways and should be designated with signs. The entrance to the rear parking lot appears narrow and revised plans should show a wider area. A signature block should be provided. The submitted plan did not show fire lanes around the buildi~; the amended plan should show the required fire lanes and the number of parkin~ spaces, which should be in compliance with Section 7.1 of the Zoning By-Law. B.I. Charles Foster informed the Board that an application had been filed with him £c~ a restaurant in the buildin~ formerly occupied by "Matson's' skimobiles, lawr~owers, etc. Discussion was held as to whether or not this was allowed with respect to the previous variances and special permits. It was everyone's opinion that it would be allowed. ROBE~? WATSON EARTH P~AL PERMIT HENE~AL: After discussion of the matter, Mr. Joyce made a motion to extend the permit until Oct. 18, 1976; Mr. Doherty seconded the motion and the vote was uriah. Discussion was held and Mr. Joyce made a motion re-present this matter to the Board next month; Mr. Doherty seconded the motion and the vote was unap~mous. This does not require a public hearing. ZONI~WORKSHOP Notice was received of a Zoning Workshop at Essex Agric. school - no one will attend. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M. Alfred E.
