Water & Sewer Department Subdivision Review
Dear Ms. Tymon:
We have received a copy of Tim Willett's February 7, 2013 Subdivision Review
memorandum for the above referenced project, and we offer the following response. To
facilitate the review of this information, we have reproduced Mr. Willis' comment in Italics,
and our response immediately follows.
1. A six-inch sewer force main exists parallel to the twelve-inch water main in
the Appleton Street R.O.W. It transmits sewage from Blue Ridge Road to
Appleton Street at Pine Ridge Road. Relocation of the force main will be
necessary, in similar fashion to the relocation of the twelve-inch water main,
as shown on Sheet 8. This work by the applicant will have to be coordinated
with the Superintendent of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), as it will affect
the operation of the sewer pump station in Blue Ridge Road. The force main
and its relocation must be added to the plans.
CSI response: When we originally requested information about the sewer system
from the Water and Sewer Department, we were told that the force main was in the
existing easement on the subject property that lies along the railroad right-of-way,
and therefore the proposed project would have no impact on the force main. If the
force main is in the old Appleton Street right-of-way, a portion of it will have to be
relocated (as with the water main). Mr. Willett has agreed to mark out the location of
the force main on the ground, so that we can locate it by survey and add it to the
plans.
