Fields Committee Meeting Notes 11/20/14
Rick Green gave comprehensive project updates on Mcevoy and Dale Street fields. Rick
is working closely with Bruce and DPW and he will keep us up to date on punch list
items going forward ACTION ITEM Terry brought up sign issue that we need to have
CHADWICK Field Sign added to playground
Rick Gorman updated committee on prelim plans to form a Middle School
redevelopment planning committee: This will be spearheaded by Andrew Maylor and Jim
Mealy. Our recommended names for committee are Rick Green and Terry Holland. I will
keep committee in loop during winter
Reviewed all Fall permits and officially closed all town fields for fall 2014
Most items that we need DPW to assist with have been completed. ACTION ITEM
Terry Holland updated committee on CPA Grants, process etc and stated CPA is thrilled
with our two completed projects and are very interested in the middle school project
Baseball discussed issues with Sharpners 2 baseball fields and that it is more off line than
on line. Committee discussed a few possibilities and we will continue to address concerns
this of season. ACTION ITEM: Rick Gorman to meet with Bruce / Tim on water issue
at Sharpners
Dave Johns addressed concern with ATV on field at sharpners more boulders, potential
fencing will be discussed
Reviewed Town Managers office draft on sponsorship
Scott Young introduced himself to the committee and looks forward to working with all
groups
You should all be proud of the great work this committee has done on both Dale Street
and Mcevoy, exciting times
Lastly on behalf of the entire committee I want to thank Kevin Breen for his service to
stranger there is always a seat at the table
We will not meet in December and January, we will reconvene in early February as we
prepare for Spring 2015
