EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Executive Session convened at 7:05 P.M.
ATTENDANCE: The following were present: Thomas Licciardello, Chairman; James Xenakis; Daniel P.
Lanen; Mark J.T. Caggiano; Rosemary Connelly Smedile, Mark Rees, Town Manager; Ray Santilli, Assistant
Town Manager.
The Board of Selectmen was individually polled and each voted to move into Executive Session. Vote
approved 5-0.
The Selectmen's sub-committee of Mark Caggiano and James Xenakis briefed the board regarding the
renewal of the Town Manager's employment contract,which is scheduled to expire on September 4, 2006.
The Town Manager Mark Rees has agreed to the terms to extend his contract with the town.
After discussion the Board agreed to the following terms of the Town Manager's contract:
Term: 3 years September 5, 2006 to September 4, 2009
Vacation & Other Leaves Reduce#of vacation days from 25 to 20. $Value of 5 days to be
added to Base Salary. Increase carry over to 60 days, Buy back to 5
days/yr from accrued vacation leave.
Automobile Allowance $450/month
Insurance $2,500
Prof. Dev. Memberships Delete"and the Government Finance Officer Association (GFOS)"
Prof. Dev. Max Reimbursement $3,500/yr
Professional Liability Add the phrase"and in good faith"at the end of the first sentence
Base Salary 14 yr 3%, 2n°yr 3%plus Merit, 3`"yr 3% plus merit $117,460
Deferred Compensation 3.8%of Base Salary $4,463
Mark Caggiano made a MOTION, seconded by Rosemary Smedile,to approve the terms of the Town
Managers contract. Vote approved 4-1-0. Daniel Lanen opposed.
ADJOURNMENT:
James Xenakis made a MOTION, seconded by Daniel Lanen, to move out of Executive Session. Vote
approved 5-0.
