Lanen; Mark J.T. Caggiano; Rosemary Connelly Smedile, Mark Rees, Town Manager; Ray Santilli, Assistant Town Manager. The Board of Selectmen was individually polled and each voted to move into Executive Session to discuss Collective Bargaining and Potential Litigation. Vote approved 5-0. Collective Bargaining Potential Litigation When the special bill passed the Legislature, a former School Committee member Al Perry chose COBRA health insurance, which is payment of 102%premium and he paid the first partial month of March and then no payment was made for April and May. He was contacted and was told the town was going to cancel his insurance and go back 60 days, and he provided no response. By then another month passed,we did cancel him going back 60 days. He then called saying he needed health insurance and would the town be willing to setup a payment plan. We setup a payment plan and he only made two payments and is now delinquent for two months, which is$4,768.01 in arrears. We send him a Certified letter stating that unless we received payment, his insurance would be canceled. We have not heard from him and cancel his health insurance as of November 1, 2007. Selectman Xenakis spoke with him about this matter and Mr. Perry said that he did not have the money. ^ Mark Caggiano made a MOTION, seconded by Thomas Licciardello, to wait until December 3, 2007,to authorize the Town Manager to file an action to a collection attorney to collect the$4,768.01. Vote approved 4-1. Rosemary Smedile opposed and wanted to wait until January. ADJOURNMENT: Thomas Licciardello made a MOTION, seconded by Daniel Lanen,to move out of Executive Session. Vote approved 5-0. Respectfully submitted, Adele J. Johnson,Administrative Secretary
