BOARD OF SELECTMEN EXECUTIVE SESSION MINUTES February 12, 2018
EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Executive Session convened at 6:30 p.m.
ATTENDANCE: The following were present: Chairman Phil DeCologero, Clerk Regina Kean, Rosemary
Smedile, Richard Vaillancourt, Chris Nobile, Town Manager Andrew Maylor, Assistant Town Manager
Ray Santilli and Executive Assistant Laurie Burzlaff.
Executive session-M.G.L. Chapter 30A, §21(a) reason #3-to discuss strategy with respect to collective
bargaining with Police and Firefighter Unions
Town Manager, Andrew Maylor, indicated that they have just begun negotiations and the predominant
issue is compensation. Firefighters are asking to work details; however this may need to be approved by
the Police Union and would require significant hours of training which the firefighter would have to
personally pay for. The Board discussed whether the contract would address firefighter overtime.
ADJOURNMENT:
Rosemary Smedile made a MOTION, seconded by Richard Vaillancourt, to move out of executive
session and back into open session at 7:00 p.m. Roll call vote: Kean-yes, Nobile- yes, Smedile-
yes, Vaillancourt-yes, DeCologero-yes.
