NORTH ANDOVER HISTORICAL COMMISSION Minutes from meeting held
December 11, 2017

I. 197 HIGH STREET - developer George Hughes met with the Commission
to request the demolition of the buildings at 197 High Street
Kathleen Szyska , Chairman, stated that according to the Demolition Delay
Bylaw Commission members had to tour the building before making a
decision.about demolition.
A tentative date and time for an inspection of the buildings was set for
Monday, December 18, at eleven am.
II. NORTH PARISH CHURCH- proposed CELL TOWER- Keith
Wentzel,representing the North Parish Church,along
with representatives from Verizon and Hudson, met with the Commission to
provide information about the material to be used as louvers on the steeple
after the cell tower is installed.
A sample black louver was passed around for Commission members to
inspect. The Commission was told that the same material was used on the
steeple of the West Parish Church in Andover after the installation of a cell
tower.
Commission members reminded Mr. Wentzel that there was a preservation
document in existence that required the church to preserve and maintain the
preserved facade. C. J.brought up the possibility of a regular inspection of the
louvers. C.J.also mentioned that it would be useful for the Commission to
consult with the Town Attorney to draft a legally-binding document
before installation of the cell tower.
III. OLD BURYING GROUND - Al McGregor and Ray Santilli have been notified
that the Commission has voted to have the McGregor Company install the gate
at the Old Burying Ground in the spring of 2018
THE NEXT NORTH ANDOVER HISTORICAL COMMISSION MEETING WILL BE
HELD JANUARY 8, 2018 AT 7PM IN THE NORTH ANDOVER TOWN HALL.
