NORTH ANDOVER HISTORICAL COMMISSION Minutes from meeting held January
9, 2017
ABSENT: Jim Wefers and Nick Pelletier
I. Minutes accepted after corrections re attendance
II.BERRY FARM BURYING GROUND- There was a discussion about the the
Berry Farm Burying Ground condition now that the development is almost complete.
Carol confirmed that according to historical records the correct name is the Berry Farm
Burying Ground. Kathy reviewed the improvements that the Development Firm is
committed to after the completion of the project. This includes public access to the
graveyard and a buffer zone around the area.
Kathy mentioned that Eric Loth has invited Commission members to tour the replica
farmhouse used for offices etc. which is now completed.
III.OLD CENTER HISTORICAL DISTRICT - Harry Aznoian is now the Chairman of the
Old Center Historic District. Marty Larson is the secretary. Kathy Szyska serves as
liaison from the Commission. Kathy mentioned that the Old Center Historic District
plans to review the original by=laws which were written several decades ago (before
cell towers, sonar panels etc).
III. ETHICS TEST - a reminder...everyone appointed to a Town Committee is asked to
complete the on-line ethics test by February.
IV. SENIOR CENTER PRESENTATION -On January 23 Kathy and Anne will visit
the Hot Topics group and give an overview of the mission of the North Andover
Historical Commission. All Commission members are invited to attend.
