All Present II.Minutes Accepted - ( After correction of a spelling error) III.STEVENS ESTATE COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVE FROM NAHC - C.J. Gangi will be the NAHC representative to the Stevens Estate Committee being formed by the North Andover selectmen. IV. STEVENS ESTATE REPAIRS - STEVE FOSTER, North Andover Facilities Supervisor, has informed us that work is scheduled on the following areas at the Estate: 1.Gas Connection 2.Bathrooms (large bathroom divided into two) 3.Roof repair on the addition Kathy Szyska, Chairman. explained that due to safety laws and existing warranty issues the chimney repairs will not duplicate the current structures . C.J. Gang said he would check with Mass. Historic about the chimney issue. V. OLD BURYING GROUND A. The Historical Society has offered to store the remaining stone fragments from the OBG in the Parson Barnard Barn. The Society has pallets which can be used to protect the fragments. B. The Commission will write a formal letter to the Historical Society requesting the use of the storage space. C. Kathy Szyska explained that Don Slater has agreed that his students will use popcicle sticks to identify grave sites (instead of the flags which made DPW mowing difficult.) D. On November 13, at 7pm, at the Historical Society, Dr. Slater and his students will give a presentation about their work at the Old Burying Ground. Dr. Slater has indicated that the project might last for two more years. E. Carol Majahad reported that there had been recent defacement done to the Lovejoy grave. STEVENS- COOLIDGE ESTATE -Commission members discussed the activities scheduled for the Stevens-Cool idge Gardens by the Trustees of Reservations. B. Neighbors of the Estate find the traffic and noise disruptive. 14 events requiring a special liquor license have been scheduled during the Holiday Season . A. The Trustees have indicated that they have future plans to charge $10.00 admission to visit the gardens. B. After discussion the Commission unanimously passed a motion that the NAHC write a letter to the Trustees in support of North Andover residents being allowed to visit the gardens freely. Jay Dowd and Anne Ericson agreed to draft a a suggested letter for Kathy Szyska, Chairman to send to the Trustees. OTHER ISSUES I. CAROLINE STEVENS ROGERS BUILDING - The Commission discussed the new plan for the CSR Building. This plan proposes renovating the existing building and maintaining it as an adjunct to the Historical Society. The Board of the North Andover Historical Society has approved the plan. On November 10 there will be an Open House for the public to tour the building. II.CJ asked about Commission members getting town email addresses. Commission members agreed to go through this process before our November meeting. III. 136 Salem Street Demolition Delay - No communication has been received at this date. NEXT MEETING ..........
