Bryan Sheckman called meeting to order shortly after 7pm and assigned minutes to Joanna O'Connell b. The meeting was held in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at Town Hall c. Attendees gave brief introductions. II. Attendance a. Members present: Bryan Sheckman, Adrienne Goldman, Julia Ross, Kim Pass, and Joanna O'Connell b. Members not in attendance: Andrew Mitchell, Pranali Ashara, Kristi Cunningham, Devon Smolak, Elizabeth Guilbeault, Madhu Dhar, Vishvesh Dhar, Fawad Khan, Kevin Craig, Alvin Pimentel, and Jessica Pimentel. III. Discussion of Current Business a. Earth Day Town -Wide Clean -Up updates i. DPW request email for supplies en route ii. Rain barrel promotion open -talk about display barrels and promotion moving forward. iii. Thoughts about possibility for police light -up sign for cleanup -Bryan looking into. iv. Talk about updating signs and flyers for Earth Day Clean Up promotion, as well as advertising on NA CAM. v.Discussed getting the word out via Facebook, reaching out to Merrimack College and Brooks School. b. More Initiative updates i. Next goal after Earth Day Clean Up, getting RDP points updated June deadline. ii. Green Schools moving along well, saving approx. 21,000 pounds since September in the 4 schools that are lunchroom sorting. iii. Talk of writing donation letter to larger companies for disposable gloves, cash or compostable bags for the Green Schools program. c. Plastic Bag Ban update: i. Adrienne and Julia provided a recap of the Board of Selectman meeting, where they presented the plastic bag ban Powerpoint ii. Committee discussed possibility for a grant for bags to give out at town meeting; iii. Warrant will be published in March can then put on our website and reach out more to community; iv. Town Manager has helped with bylaws, which are mirroring Tewksbury's bylaws; if passed, ban would go into effect on January 1, 2021; v. Discussion of Town Meeting publicity at Primary Election and/or Board of Selectman election, both in March; vi. Members each have a committee to reach out to explaining ban, making public aware of the choice they have to make at Town Meeting. d. Other updates: i. Bryan to reach out to Merchant Association for Sheep Shearing Festival and to Jet Blue for possible sponsorship for reusable bags. ii. Library discussion about next documentary all will research this. Joanna reaching out to library to secure a date for spring. iii. Need to update NASC website with details of the cleanup, rain barrel promo etc. iv. Discussion about possibly having to move March meeting because of voting day. IV. Meeting Adjourned
