Meeting Minutes for Thursday, August 12, 2021
I. Call to Order
a. Andrew Mitchell called meeting to order shortly after 7pm and assigned minutes to
himself
b. The meeting was held in the 2^d Floor Conference Room at Town Hall
II. Attendance
a. Members present: Andrew Mitchell, Bryan Sheckman, Jessica Pimentel, Kevin Dube,
Kanthi Sattiraju, Alvin Pimentel
b. Members not in attendance: Joanna O'Connell, Elizabeth Guilbeault, Pranali Ashara,
Julie Ross, Kim Pass, and Adrienne Goldman.
III. Discussed potential initiatives for the rest of 2021 and 2022
a. Community Composting—The group talked about composting and agreed that we
should continue promotion at future festivals/markets when we have a presence and
ability to directly engage with residents.
b. Ways to increase Solar Usage— Kevin asked the group about the solar panel usage on
Town Buildings. This was followed by a brief discussion about solar usage and the group
is interested in learning more about ways to incentivize businesses, residents, and the
Town itself, to use more solar power.
c. Collaborate with local clean-up projects— Group discussed the annual Lake
Cochichewick cleanup and agreed that we will reach out and find out when and if it is
happening so we can represent the committee and help with this worthy activity.
d. Green Business Program- Andy floated the idea that we could work on developing a
Green Business promotion in town that allows businesses to earn "green business"
stickers or signage for meeting to-be-determined criteria that promotes sustainability and
environmental stewardship. This is something we will discuss in greater detail at future
meetings.
N. Internal/Administrative
a. Group agreed that we will skip September meeting and re-convene in October
b. Tentative Dates for Upcoming 2021 meetings: Oct 14th
