Director's Update
• Thanksgiving Drive (dinner delivered to 75 families in town)
o Drive is mainly organized by Franklin School,pick up by families
• Holiday Gift Drive
o In process
• Discussion of potential meet-and-greet between Youth Center staff and NAYRS Board members to
facilitate relationship development and/or Board member shadow a staff member for a day
• Saturday with fifth grade is going great. A wonderful opportunity for students to get a taste of what the
YC will offer them in middle school
• Social Worker position still open and will be reposted to expand pool
• Assistant Director job description has been approved
• Downer Brother's has begun fall clean-up
• Winter programs begin the Tuesday after Thanksgiving
• The Boosters Club and NA Crusaders begin winter gym rentals after Thanksgiving
• Rick and Demi have started FY24 Budget with goal of being done before Christmas
• "Soft Return"to Brooks Sunday Night Skating(8 Sundays)
• Skate rink to be placed outside on baseball field this winter
• Youth Center updating all protocols. Plans to be shared with the board as they are completed
o Youth Center follows ALICE protocol in the event of a crisis,but should we be exploring
options that are more appropriate for our building/location?
New Business
Based on Jon's meeting with staff
• Periodic check-ins with staff are appreciated
• Further discussion of the expansion of the youth center
o Board will need to advocate for continued pressure to keep this at the forefront of town
business
• Rick's 3 5th anniversary(January)
o Bring back former staff members/former kids
o Educate students about the history of the Youth Center

o Advocacy from board members to keep this at the forefront of town discussion
• Gale Associates master fields plan study being completed
o evaluation and report presented to the Selectmen during the second week of December
