HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-03-11225 Monday - March 11, 1968 Regular ~eeting The BOARD C~ APPEAI~ held their regular meeting on Monday evening, March 11, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. in the To~n Office Building Meeting Room. The following members were present and voting: Daniel T. 0'Leafy, Acting 0hair, an in the absence of Chairman James Deyo who was unable to attend due to illuess. Arthur D~nd, Secretary Donald J. Scott and John J. Shields. There were 20 people present for the hearings of the evening. The two hearings scheduled were for Roy Fart for; a special permit for an apartment development and Village Land Oompany for a division of land. Acting Cheir,~ 0'Leary explained that the Board was unable to have a f-~ member Board and that if the petitioners so desired they could either hold the- hearings with only four members or have the hearings postponed until next mc~th when five members would be present. Atty. Stephen LoPiano, representing Roy FarT, requested a postponement until five members could sit on the Board. Mr. Shields made a motion to hold the hearing for Roy FarT on March 18, 1968. Mr. Scott seconded the motion and the vote was ,raa,~mous. Mr. Arthur M~I~, representing Village Land 0o. ,also requested that his petition be heard on March 18, 1968. Mr. Shields made a motion to hold the hearing on that date. Mr. Scott seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. Several of the abutters could not understand the reasons for the Board's actions and Mr. Shields explained the functions of the Board and their procedures. ~4r. Dow explained to several abutters Just what Village Land Company was doing with the houses and the land since it was not clear to the~ just what was being done. The Board voted to racet again on Monday evening, March 18, 1968 in order to hold the hearings scheduled for this evening. They signed the necessary vouchers. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
