HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-03-13 arch 195© Meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by the Chairman. Members present: John F. ~Ater, Chairman, Henry E. Lund~ Irving C. Howes and alternate member Sam Di~auro. There were no applications presented for this meeting. Mr. Edward W. Saul, 1717 Turnpike Street (Salem Turnpike), North Andover was present before the Board requesting information as to the procedure to be followed in making an application.for a variance ~f the Zoning By-Laws, so as to permit the erection and maintenanceof a gasoline and service station located at 1705 Turnpike Street, (Salem Turnpike). Mr. Saul explained to the Bos~ that this was an ideal spot for such a station and that he would-tike to build one at this location if it was permissable. The Board explained the procedure to Mr. Saul and a date was set as April 10, 1950 for a Public Hearing on this matter. A general discussion was held b~ the Board and. a motion was then made and seconded and it was VOTED to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M. Signe ecru tarv ~ ' · . :O er . '/, April 10, 1950 Meeting was 'called to 'order by the Chairman at 8~10 P.M. I~JBLIC HEARING Members present: John ~. Alter, Chairman, Henry E. Lund, James T. Poor and alternate members Sam BiNauro and James Regan. An application was. received from James Calzetta & Sons requesting a variance of the ZoningBy-Laws of the Town of North Andover, so as to permit the erection and maintenance of a fruit and vegetable stand on the premises at 15~1 Turnpike Street (Salem Turnpike). Notice of this application was duly advertised in the Evening Tribune on the evening of April 1, 1950 and all abutters wer~ duly notified. Mr. James Calzetta and his son were present at this hearing as also were Ira H, and Frances O. Goodhue who are abutters to this property. Mr. Cal- zetta explained to the Board that they wished to have this stand only in the fruit and vegetable season in order to dispose of their farm produce. Plans were presented to the Board and all were in order. No objection was made to this application from the abutters. After considering the above matter, the Board UNANIMOUSLY VOTEDto grant the variance to Mr. Calzetta and they were so notified .
