Saul requesting a variance of the Zoning By-Laws of the Town of North Ando~r so ms to permit the erection and maintenance of a gasoline and service station on the premises at 1705 Turnpike Street (Salem Turnpike), North Andover. Plans were pre- sented to the Board~ and all were in order. Mr. Saul was present at this meeting and explained to th~ board that thi~ was a good location for such' a businems. There was no objection from any of the abutters, who had all been notified. Notice of this application was advertised in the Evening TribUne on° the night of April 1, 1950. After considering the ~bove matter, a motion was made and seconded and it was UNANIMOUSLY VOTED to grant the variance to Mr. Edward W. Saul. Mrs. Dorothy Morly, 1737 Turnpike Street was present before the Board' re- questing information regarding the placing mfa movable stand which would serve as a gift' shop where home made articles, made by herself could be sold. There was a question of the need of a formal appeal in this matter and the Board VOTED to take this matter under advisement and notify Mrs. Morly as to whether or not she need make a formal application for variance. After considering the above matter, the Board that this matter would be subject to Article 2, Section 4, paragraph · of the Zoning By-Laws and that no formal application would be needed in this case, provided that all merchandise' sold in the gift shop would be made at home and not pur- chased for the purpose of reselling. A motion was made and seconded and it was VOTED that Mrs. Mor!y be notified of this decisi°n. This notice wa~ sent to Mrs. Morly. Mr. Alfred NcKee Sr and Alfred McKee Jr., were present before the BOard requesting ir~formation regarding the procedure to be followed for making a formal application requesting a variance of the Zoning By-Laws of the Town of North Andover, in order to permit the operation and maintenance of a Funeral Home on the premises at 30 Church Street, North Andover. Mr. McKee Jr. ex?lgined' to the Board that he was now a fully .licenced and registered Funeral Director and Embalmor and that he wished to open a Funeral Home in their own home at 30 Church Street. H~ alsb had a list of n.~mes of abutters and~ neighbors who wished to be recorded as not objecting to this procedure. This matter was discussed with the Board and the Board felt that an application could be made under Artimle 5, section I (e) and a date for a Public Hearing was set for May 8, T950. Mr. Ralph Brasseur presented plans to the Board of a re,tuber of house lots located on Water Street and Owned by the M.T.Stevens & Sons and J.P. Stevens' Co. Application Was also made requesting a va~riance of the Zonin=~ By-Laws of the Town of North Andover ~w? so as to permit the applicants to sub,divide this property so that the houses located in this area could be sold indivi- dually,' but in sub-dividing, the lots could not conform to the present reL quirements of the Zoning Laws. Mr. Brasseur explained to the Board that these hOuses were built long before Z&ning and that the owners ho~wished.~ to sell them individually. A date Was set for a Public Hearing on this mather ~or May 8, 1950. Motion was Made a~d seconded and Voted to adjourn at 10:30 P.~.
