HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-05-14Meeting was called ~o'order by the Chairman at 8:15 P.M. in the Town Building. This meeting was a Public Hearing. Memgers present~ ~hairman, GregOry Mooradkanian, Secretary, Richard G. Whipple, Andrew E. Alvino, and associate members, J~mes J. Regan and Sam oDiMauro. An application was received from Ira G0odhue requesting a variance of the Zoning By-Laws so as to permit the erection and maintenance of a roadside stand at 91 Boston Street, for the disposal of farm produce and .the storage of same. The date set for a Public hearing on this application was May 28~ 1951. An aPplication was received from Venerina Coc~124 Union Street, Lawrence, requesting a variance of the 2qning oBy~aws so~ as to ~ermit the erection of dwellings on two lots located at 164-16§ MassachUsetts Avenue, These lots were established previous to the effect of Zoning and do not meet the present require- ments of the law. Mr. Charles Coco acting for .his mother, the applicant, informed .the Board that Mrs. Coco had owned these lots for a considerable period of time and that she now wished to deed one lot to another son in order that he could build a home for htm.~elf on these premises. He was informed that a formal application should be made and advertised and the date set for the .hearing was ~n~'°~l~ .~1 Application for a renewal of a non-conforming use permit was received from Fred Aziz of Osgood Street. Mr. Aziz was not present and as there were some questions that the Board wished to. ask Mr. Aziz, a motion was made an.d seconded and it was VOTe. that a letter should be sent to the applicant and request that he appear at the May 28, 1951 meeting to answer these questions. Application for renewal o~ a non-conforming use permit, was received from James Yelverton and as Mr. Yelverton was not present a motion was made and seconded and it was VOTED that Mr. Yelverton be notified to appear at the May .28, 1951 meeting. An application was received from Sally ~Z for renewal of a non-conforming use permit at 9 Linciln Street, to continue the use of the premises for a General Variety Store. This application had originally been granted for several years to ~,me. tt Shea, but in October 1950, Mr. Shea sold the store to Sally EahwaJg and the permit was ~ransferred to her for the remainder of the term of the permit. This renewal is new being made in her own name. After discussing the subject and since there was no opposition to this application, a motion was made and seconded and it was VOTED to grant the renewal for another year. Motion was m~de and seconded and it was VOTED to adjourn the meeting at 10:30 P.M.
