Upon motion made and seconded it was voted that Mr. Whipple be Chairm~ for the coming year. Upon motion made and seconded~ it was voted that Mr. Alvino be the Secretary of the Board for the comtug year. A communication was received from the State Dept of Public Health regarding the Town Infirmary appl~ing for a nursing home permit. The Department was advised that the Board had no jurisdiction in this matter. It was suggested that the time of the Board meeting be changed from 8:00 to 7:00 P.M. Upon motion made and seconded it was so VOTED. A letter was received from-the City Solicitors' and Town Cousel Association regar~ing a one 'day lecture course to ~e given on Board of Appeals work. ~me and place to be sent to the board at a later date.. 2his matter was discussed by the Board members and a motion was made by Peter Ritchie and seconded by Benedict Perrone that all the members of the Board be given the opportunity to attend this lecture~ the cost of which would be taken from the Board' s appropriatior~ A request was received from the clerk for the Board that compensation be increased from $10.00 per month to $12.50 per month or a total of $!50.O0 per year. The board discussed this matter and due to the increased amount of work entailed in applications and hearings, it was felt that the increase was justified. A motion was made and seconded and it was voted that the com- pensation for the clerk be increased to $12.50 per month. Mr. Ritchie then addressed the Board and stated that since there was an Industrial Planning Board being organized in the Town~ he felt that at least one member of the Board of Appeals should be appointed as an associate member. Motion was then made and seconded and it was voted that Mr. Smith be assigned to serve as an associate member of the Industrial Planning Board.
