HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-11-16Monday, Nove~ber 16, 1959 Regular Meeting The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Mon.:]ay, November 1~, 1959 at the To~m Building. Members present and voting were: Daniel T. 0'Lea~4 Chairman, Charles Foster Jr., Secreta~z, Robert BLL~ke, Henry Lund and Howard Gilman. The meeting was called to order at 7:50 E,f. 1st hearing. Thomas Kennedy petitioned for a variance in order to erect a ranch t~.,~pe home on Bay State Road. The lot is o~%ly 50 feet. T.his is the second time ~,M. Kennedy has applied for a variance. Mr. Burke moved to grant the variance. ~r. GiLmau seconded the motion. ~nanimous vote. 2nd hearing. John J. Crawley petitioned for a variance as .his lot contains only 23,800 sf and is short 1200 square feet. He wotuld like to build a home on his land. Mr. Gilman to grant the variance subject to approval of new plans. Mr. Gilman seconded the motion. Unanimous vote. Attorney Alfred Daniels appeared begore the Board in the interest of Edward Keeler who requested a site planreview for the erection of a restaurant. Mr. Daniels informed the Board that To~m Cotunsel Salisbury has stated the Board of Appeals cottld set their own regulations. He state~ he had appeared before the Plam~ing Board and has received their per~..ission to co~_e bef:~re the Board of Appeals a~ain. Willis= ChepuZis, 1018 Osgood Street pginted out to the Board he lives approximately 250 Feet fron the site I.~. Eeeler proposes to erect the restaurant and that if the permit were granted it wotuld create a traffic hazard in the area. He also stated the land is in an Industrial zone and this land should be kept for industriai purposes. Mr. Lttud moved that the hearing be continued at the next meeting or uutil such time as the plans comply with Section 4.51. lm,M. Foster seconded the motion. Unanimous vote. Daniml'Olenio, ~2 Clark Street appeared before the Board and asked for another hearing. Mr. Ltmd moved to reopen the Rogers ap!:licatdon as Attorney Finc]~ appeared for the peti$ioners. Mr. Foster seconded the notion, Unanimous vote. l:r. Finck ooint~d this was about the same as I~'~. ~rino's small lot. ~.~r. Burke moved to grant the variance.
