IOWELL-STUD~ COUNCIL: Zetter received from the student council of the University of Lowell voicing their opinion that the two North Andover Police Officers,iudefinitely suspended, should not be reinstated as they posed, By their past actions, a threat to the safety of the community and violated the trust that we must have in our police officers. Board voted to send letter in reply stating that action on this matter is not Before the Beard at the present t~m-; that Civil Service action is still pending. SOLID WASTE: Brian S. reported that it was apparent last week that the NE~WC is not going to go along with the town's site proposal unless we resolve our access problems on our own with Bob McQuade, Chairm~ of the Site Selection Oo~m-~ttea indicated to Bud Cyr that it would be a good idea to Begin negotiations with Haverhill. Brian suggested that a meeting be set up with the town's solid waste co~,,.~ttee to discuss what the ~ext step should be and if we are going to meet with Haver~ to discuss our usgotiati~n strategy. A representative from Mitre ~orp and the State ~ be present at Town Meeting to answer any questions on the Solid Waste Facility. SCANLON~S HAP~WARE: Manager requested permission to display ~heel~arrows and various hardware supplies on the ~Sidewalk in front cf his store. As there is a p~ssib~.~.~ty that the town may he liable if someone is injured as a result of this permit, the to~n asked Brian to contact Town Counsel for an opinion on the matter.
