The Selectmen stated that it weuld have to be determined if the space was needed for the town ~,,~lding first before ,l~owing anyone else to use it. SOLICITORS: Salesman come in the building trying to sell insurance to town ~ployees who are annoyed by them. Board instructed Brian to post a sign stating that no soliciting is ,1 ~ owed. FIRE ENGINEERS: According to the state law, the Board of Fire Engineers should be appointed during the month of April. Board will make appointments after Town Meeting, April 23, 1977. TBOMBLY BUS HEARING: Frank Trombly requested that a re,tuber of the Board or a representative be present at their hearing on a petition for more bus routes. Hearing will be on ,$pril 14, at 10 A.H. in Boston.. Board~ designated Brian S,,~l~van to represent them. ;.lice M. Coady with Chairman Thom"s J. McEvoy presiding. The warrant and minutes were approved as submitted. POLE LOCATIONS: Approved at hearing, installation of 5 poles on Foster Street. STREE~ LIGHT CHANGE-OVEg: Communication from John Pare stated that letter of intent should be sent to the Mass. E~ectric Company before June 1st stating that the Town of North Andover agrees that, over a reasonable length of time, the town street lights are to be changed over from incandescent to mercury lights. Recaipt of this letter would freeze the price of the change bver no matter when chang~ over ex- Change Over rsqutres Special Town Meeting or regular Town Meeting action. The matter referred to Brian S~llivan. BOOSTER CLUB: Invi.tation to participate in 1977 Paseball Opening Ceremonies, Sungay, May 1, at 1 p.m., Carl Thomas Youth League Field. Board also voted to donate $5.00 per Selectman for annual ad at the Field. ER'S CONTRACT: Letter from Atty. Willis requested signing of agreed contract before annual Town Meeting. Board requested Brian S. to draw up agreed contract to be signed after Town Meeting. Interviews Sect% Follansbee, 35 Center Street, Burlington, Mass. appeared before the Board stating that the Surveyor, with the approval of the Planning Board and C~nservaticn Commission, had made agreement that Follansbee w~.] .pay one-half the costs of reconstruction cf a portion of Lacy Street. The Board voted to send letter to Town Counsel requgsting his 'advice on the procedure necessary for accepting and expending this money. GRIEVANCE: received citing an incident involving a fireman and the Fire CHief. Board voted to request · . f. rem T~wn Counsel as to whether the Board of the Board of Fire Engineers should initiate any discmplinary~ction against the Chief. He stated that the Selectmen constitute t~:e appointing authority ~f the members of the Board of Fire ~hgineers so, accordingly, it is for the to take the initiative should an occasion arise requiring disciplinary action. LIBRARY SPACE: Peters appeared before the Board requesting space for storage in the lower part o'f the '~ ~,~ding. Chairman McEvoy stated that there would be no problem but it would take time. stated that the volume of storage would increase as the. years went on.
