Voted to change language to read: "a sum not to exceed $4000." Administrator ment~aed there should be provision that appraissl report will meet specifications ~quired to receive federal funding. Board voted to include that provision. Licensing Application for Auctioneer's license, Town-Wide, from David Axelrod, 17 Poor St.., N.And accepted subject to payment of fee. Application for. ten,cai of Class II license from Andrew Cashman, 4 Nain St. accepted subject to payment of fee and with s~.me restrictions as to limitation of cars. Application for renewal of Class II license from Edward J. Marsan, 1060 Osgood St., and transfer of license from 79 Chickering Rd. to 1060 Osgood St. accepted and transfer subject to the payment of fee and same restriction on limitation of cars. Catherine J. Foley, acting Secretapy Clerk The Board of Selectmen held their regular m ' . ' date with two members present; Selectman Joseph A..Guthrie, John F. Coady, Chairman. Selectmen Thomas J. McEvoy was absent due to illness. The warrant was approved as submitted. HEARING: JOEY'S Selectmen Guthrie read letter from Dept.of Corporations and Taxation re- questing a hearing to show cause for the suspension of license. Nicholas B. Debitetto from Dept. Corp. and Taxation was present. Guthrie motioned to take the letter under advisement, and make a.decision at the next meeting. No representation from Joey's. BEVERLY ST.. PARKING SITUATION Residents from Beverly St. were present to state their complaint on a problem parking situation on their street. Mark Disalvo was present to speak for 'the group. Chairman Coady stated the problems of. the Highway Surveyor and some safety factors. Selectman Guthrie motioned to make the sidewalk situation on Beverly St. permissable and institute the same policy'as last yr.(cars must be moved during snow seorms), and make it a regular part of the yearly ban. So moved. . JURORS I juror for Lawrence, and 2 jurors for Salem were to be drawn tonight. 'Town' Clerk was not in the building, so Board authorized Sel. Guthrie io'draw on Tuesday. Mr. Guthrie could not make it in on Tuesday, so Mr. McEvoy drew the jurors on Wednesday, with officer David'Rand present. 'Salem: .~Peter J. Torrissi, 35 Sawyer Rd.; Carol A. Murphy, 130 Moody S~. Lawrence: Edward R. Mallory, 57 Lincoln St. both are to report Feb.6 ORDER OF TAKING, MISSILE SITE ROAD A letter was received from Donald F. Smith, Esq., enclosing the Order of Taking of the properties on Missile Site Road which has been duly recorded at the registry of deeds and returned to the late Mr. Salisbury's registry of d~eds. The Order was accepted for our files. TOWN ACCOUNTANT APPOINTMENT: The Board voted unanimously to appoint Joseph Willis to the position of Town Accountant, effective February 1, 1978. Present Town Accountant, David Roche, is retiring as of Januar 30, 1978. Mr. Willis volunteered to work with the the present accountant, at no cost, to become familiar with the work. Mr. Willis, presently holding the position of Veteran's Agent will resign from the Job. Motion made to advertise for candidates for the Veteran's Agent position as soon as possible. POLICE ASSOCIATION FINAL OFFER: Notice was received of the date of the first hearing for Final Offer Arbitration which '~fll be on Friday, February 10, 1978, in the Tol,n H~ll, at 10 a.m. The Board voted to authorize Mr. Ford to request Mr. Joseph Sweeney to act as the town's arbitrator. ~ECEIVED: Letter from Mass. Water Resources Commission re hearings on water pollution control. Letter from MVPs re Selectmen to designate a representative to attend TPAG meetings.
